About Michel
I come to coaching with 12 years of experience as a licensed psychotherapist. With a degree from Northwestern University, and Life Coach training from the Coaches Training Institute, I specialize in working with adult individuals, couples and groups. I also teach Artist's Way Teleclasses. Choosing coaching as a career is a result of being coached in my personal life, my work life and my whole life. My work history includes a BFA in Film and Television from NYU, and career in film and television where I worked mostly in production and post- production. From there as I re-evaluated my goals, I discovered I preferred to choose a path that could in some small way, make the world a better place to live in. I then worked in a psychiatric hospital doing research in the inpatient psychiatric unit of the VA hospital in Manhattan, while I pursued a graduate degree in counseling psychology. After moving to Chicago for graduate school at Northwestern, I worked in a number of facilities from crisis work at a police department, to developing a family resource center at a local hospital while I built my private practice. In my practice I work with individuals, and traditional and non-traditional couples to resolve problems and bring fulfillment into their lives. Life coaching is about your whole life and building a future. It is my job to help you live a more fulfilled life. I am an entrepreneur, life coach, therapist, friend, sister, aunt, dog mommy and daughter. I love living my life, both the joys and the struggles that balance my journey. I am also a mosaic table maker, a writer, a knitter, a collage artist, a CD burner, dog lover and all around creative soul. I love working with people. I get great joy and satisfaction from celebrating my clients as they claim their authenticity and connect with themselves and I’m excited to begin this journey with you!
